seek your soul

I've been downloading a few gigs worth of mp3s ever since installing soul seek. i would say this is the best p2p since napster as far as hard to find albums are concerned. I downloaded quite a few techno video game remixes, and some obscure metal albums. On the 8th I downloaded Chimaira's new album which comes out next month i think. So far this would be my top (new release) album of the year. Most bands in metal, after gaining some popularity tend to make music that reaches a wider range.. or in other words go the pussy route. They used to call their music ass-ripping metal.. its like having that asshole stitched up and fully recovered and opening it up even wider.(oh shit that was a good one) Pantera did this with Far Beyond Driven.. Slipknot i guess did it with Iowa (too bad they went the mtv route after that) Their first song Nothing Remains, was released a month or two ago.. was written the day dimebag was shot and killed, seems like the album has a little bit of his influence in it. At first i listened to the album and i liked it a little.. after two more listens i knew it was a great album after popping the most wicked boner 3:27 into Track 2 Save Ourselves. My other favorite albums this year: Avenged Sevenfold - City of Evil (metal with a pop edge sound like metallica/gnr/etc) Finch - Say Hello to Sunshine (glassjaw/thursday sounding) Soilwork - Stabbin the Drama (swedish metal.. not as great as earlier stuff by them) .. ok now i cant wait to see if the new In Flames delivers, most likely not.. they've sounded less like themselves and more like american metal circa 2002. Ironic because a lot of bands are copying their sound, while they try sounding more like their imiators.
